On the first of July we celebrate Keti Koti in Suriname. This year we celebrate 157 years of freedom! Whoop Whoop :o)

On this day we remember what the people and our ancestors went through before the abolition of the slavery. How they sadly have suffered. Because I am very proud of my Surinam roots. I think it’s very important to celebrate and reflect on this day. Although freedom seems normal today, this is certainly not the case! Our ancestors have fought super hard for this!  Be thankful and never forget your roots!

Let’s celebrate, reflect, laugh, dance, drink and eat some tasty Surinam food.

Have Wan Blessi Switi Manspasi dey!

So so lobi!
