Iwan Seedorf’s Big 70 Birthday Party

In the Surinamese culture we love coziness. This goes hand in hand with; good food, laughing, dancing and music. This year my uncle become 70 years. A good reason to party :o). He lives in French Guiana. As a surprise his children organized a big birthday party in Holland. First there was a church service, to bless his life. The pastor spoke and was accompanied by a female music band. It looked like an Angel choir with heavenly voices ;o). After the church service, it was dinner time. Almost all dishes from the Surinamese cuisine were present. After all bellies were full, it was time to dance. The music band Kaseko Masters provided the necessary Kaseko music. Kaseko music is Surinamese dance music, derived from the traditional Surinamese-Creole kawina-music. The birthday boy, or should I say birthday man ;o), did the opening dance. After the opening dance, the dance floor was full. And so it went on for a few hours. Not only the birthday man enjoyed his party, but also the family members and friends. It was a successful party, full of Surinamese ingredients :o).

I wish Uncle Iwan many healthy and happy years filled with; love, joy and happiness.
